malware removal, ntdll64.dll, infection found in memory
Problem details:
Customer unable to run scan and thus detect infection. The infection killing processes was malware called ntdll64.dll which was registered as a system 32 dll. The infection in memory would stop legitimate installations of malware removal tools so they could not run on the system.
Solution details:
Kill the bad process run the scanner and then suddenly able to find the infections in the hive, folders of the system drive and in memory. Then simply remove the infections or malware found. One process known as ntdll64.dll was largely the culprit and malware in memory registered as a system 32 dll.
