Solution details:
Customer was infected with a recent strain of the W32 Virut Virus. This virus implants itself into every running process or .exe file on your computer. After a diligent attempt, it was determined that the only way to remove this strain of virus is to physically uninstall the affected hard drive, and install as a second drive in a known good PC and run the scans from there. Even then there is no guarantee of a fix without having to perform a repair install of the operating system, and re-installing any programs that failed to repair.
