Unable to Access Secure Websites & Other Misc. Internet Problems
Problem details:
The customer is unable to access secure websites and receives miscellaneous Internet connection problems, despite an obvious and persistent connection to the Internet. She notes Norton 360 was recently reinstalled on the computer.
Solution details:
Upon examining Norton 360, I found that there was some type of corruption error and the program wasn't functioning properly. I uninstalled it completely after confirming that the definitions subscription would carry over to a new installation despite a window claiming the opposite. After the uninstall, I confirmed that normal Internet connectivity was restored and functioning normally. We rebooted the customer's computer, then reinstalled Norton 360 and configured it properly. After running LiveUpdate, I once again tested the Internet connection and everything worked fine.
