Is possible to connect a wireless router to another wireless router?
Problem details:
I have DLINK ADSL2 wireless router using Internet in one room.
I have 4 computers working in another room. I can't put long cable between two rooms and I don't want to put 4 wireless cards on those computers because it's more network file sharing on those computers. If using wireless cards, it must slow down the network drive.
Solution details:
Refer to this table to choose a compatible router #2 to purchase.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices
Then follow the instructions on http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices to load the dd-wrt firmware into the Router #2. Be sure you choose the instructions for the correct version of your router #2, which is found on the bottom of the router next to the model number. Once you've loaded the new firmware, follow the instructions here http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Bridged to program the router to become a wireless Client Bridge to your DLINK router. Once complete, simply plug your 4 computers into Router #2 (using automatic ip addressing & DNS settings on your hardwired computers) and enjoy!
